From the eyes of a teen…

Hello all,

This past week has been the most interesting week in my young adult life! Ok my story starts on the 14th of September.

It was a cheery Sunday morning in the Toon home. There was an overwhelming scent of after shave coming from my father who had just completed his ritual Sunday shave. There was also an undetected scent….. The scent of horror!! Little did the Toon’s know this day would turn into a memory of a life time, (creepy music plays). The lady of the house was putting on a brightly colored Sunday dress. The cute petite sized teenager of the house (me) was also dressing and carefully placing makeup on her face. They were all too busy to notice the critical mistake that would later affect them all.

From the eyes of a teen…

Hello all,

I am terribly sorry for missing so much. I must say that a lot has happened since my last article. Recently a couple of horrible things have happened.

School started whether we were ready or not! Therefore a lot of my friends have gone off to college, I miss them sooo much! I know I wasn’t ready for it, I think I am allergic to school… not sure yet, we are still waiting for the doctors diagnosis ha-ha!!

School really isn’t that bad. I like my teacher, and she absolutely adores me! (For those who don’t know… I am home schooled, so my mom is my teacher!) The only thing I hate about school is algebra… I totally love English! I get to read cool stuff like books about Buddha, Madame Curie, Cleopatra, and I get to read Edgar Allen Poe! I love Edgar Allen Poe!!! My favorite from him is “The Raven”!! I love it! History class, on the other hand, has been in front of the television because of the political conventions, speeches and such. This fall will have us paying close attention to the political process because either way it goes this election will be historic.

From the eyes of a Teen…

This week I had the privilege of meeting Jack Sisson. He is a 21 year old college student, from New Canaan, Conn.who is in-line skating across America! He came through Boise City Sunday on his way from Guymon. Pastor and Mrs. Ordean Nelson let him stay the night at their home and Monday morning he headed on his way to Clayton, N.M.

He is doing this to raise money for a charity called Action Against Hunger. I asked him why he would want to do that and he said he likes in line skating and wants to see the country… plus it gives him time to think!

From the Eyes of a Teen

Hello everyone.

This week’s article starts at the free circus, but ends at a tear jerking performance by Mel Gibson just kidding.

Last Friday my friends and I went to the free circus at the fair building. This is the first circus I have gone to since we moved here. It was really cool.

One of the crowd’s favorite attractions was the Albino ball python. They brought it out so people could hold it and have their pictures taken with it. Three of my friends and I held him but they wouldn’t let me hold the head so I got to stand with his tail around my neck and shoulders.

From the eyes of a Child…

 by  Rhiannon Toon

Hello all,   This week we had the pleasure of   going to Stillwater, Oklahoma and Muskogee, Oklahoma. Dad had to do some business in Stillwater, so my mother and I decided to go with him. I only went so I could see my cousin who lives there. After a couple of days in Stillwater we got to go to Muskogee so we could see our family. Trinity (my niece) has started walking! We also got to see my brothers, my sister, my other niece, and my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Joe.

Hello all,

This week I turned… Very old!  A lady never reveals her age!  For my birthday party my favorite cousin, Uncle, and parents took me to Wonderland Theme Park in Amarillo, TX. My favorite ride, the Rainbow is like a giant chair filled with little chairs that hold you in place while you go up and down… but not upside-down.  My second favorite, The Pirate, looks like a pirate ship that swings back and forth… I like it… that’s why it’s my second favorite!  I also just adore the one that I went on about five trillion times.  It is like a water coaster you go straight up and when you get to the top you go around and just drop. You get very, very, very wet.  All in all I loved Wonderland!
