On Wednesday, February 27, the Boise City Junior High and High School Choir students participated in District Vocal Music Contest. The first event for the day was the large group entry. This is the first time in several years that Boise City has had a choir participate as a large group entry. The 23 junior high and high school students sang for three judges. According to the contest rules the choir must sing two songs.

One of the two songs must be selected from a contest list, and one of the two must be unaccompanied. The Boise City Choir received a superior (I) rating from all three judges, which means they qualify to go to State Choir Contest in April. Several Boise City entries received superior ratings, and those entries with high school members qualify for State Music Contest along with the choir. The students would like to thank Donna Ottinger and Beth Hewett for accompanying for them for all of the rehearsals in preparation, and for playing for them at contest.

We couldn’t have done it without you!
